This book tells the story of a very small caterpillar that comes from an egg and begins eating EVERYTHING in sight, and finally it it no longer hungry and no longer a little small thing。 Over time the caterpillar builds a cocoon around himself and becomes a great big butterfly。I gave this book a 5 star rating because it is everyones favorite from when they where once children, it teaches the life of a caterpillar and also just draws children in with the colors and the fun pages inside。

This book is a fun and colorful reading for young children。 The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a book about a caterpillar who leaves their egg and is immediately hungry, eating anything in their path。 When the caterpillar is no longer hungry, he is also no longer small。 This book shows the evalution of a caterpillar but can be related to in the way that humans grow and change all the time。

Fabulous present as a hard back for a any baby/tot。 Don't give paper version as kids need to stick their fingers in the holes。 Fabulous present as a hard back for a any baby/tot。 Don't give paper version as kids need to stick their fingers in the holes。 。。。more

Heidi Jarvis,
I had not read this book since I was young and I thoroughly enjoyed it! This book has a lot of overlapping colors displayed in the fruit and the sun and I think Carle really played with what was the most realistic while still being cartoon-like。 I like how the dirt actually looks like dirt, and the plumbs look delicious enough to eat!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a picture book for children ages two to seven。 I gave this book a 5/5。 The book is about a very small caterpillar who never got full and eventually he grew。 Upon his growth, he became a beautiful butterfly。 The book won several awards such as the 2012 Caldecott Medal, the graphic arts award for its colorful illustrations of the insect, and the best picture book in the New York Times。 I gave this book a 5/5 because I have always enjoyed the reading。 I enjoyed it as The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a picture book for children ages two to seven。 I gave this book a 5/5。 The book is about a very small caterpillar who never got full and eventually he grew。 Upon his growth, he became a beautiful butterfly。 The book won several awards such as the 2012 Caldecott Medal, the graphic arts award for its colorful illustrations of the insect, and the best picture book in the New York Times。 I gave this book a 5/5 because I have always enjoyed the reading。 I enjoyed it as a child and I enjoy reading it to younger readers currently。 The colors are illustrious and brazen。 The plot was very effective。 In fact, I believe the book is very appealing to younger audiences。 Children are attached to stories and the colors schemes that are involved in most texts。 I also believe that many activities can arise from this book。 This book can be implemented into several lesson plans as a librarian and as a childhood educator。 This book thoroughly explains the life chart of a caterpillar growing into a butterfly and potentially, how hungry caterpillars can be in a fictional sense。 This book is similar in color to Chicka Chicka Boom Boom。 All in all, The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a very cute book for the younger audiences and enjoyable for readers also。 。。。more
Trish GELSOMINO,
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a book with interesting illustrations and a good read。 The illustration is bright but in some instances abstract。 For example, look for subtle faces on the moon and the sun which helps evoke emotion for the caterpillar。 The description of what the caterpillar eats is great for counting with kids and teaching that less is better。

One day a caterpillar was born and he was very hungry。 He found himself an apple and ate it。 As he finished he realized he was still hungry so he continued to eat more and more every day as the week progressed。 He was still hungry so he decided to pig out on cake and ice cream, etc。 He soon suffered from a tummy ache until he ate a leaf。 This story teaches kids that they should always eat healthily and stick to a healthy diet。

In the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", the illustrations are very beautiful and intriguing。 The book shows the transition of a caterpillar into a butterfly。 The caterpillar goes through a journey eating constantly and growing more and more each day。 A young reader gets to learn and see that this is what happens to a caterpillar。 Overall, the book is filled with a great lesson, and would definitely recommend it。 In the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", the illustrations are very beautiful and intriguing。 The book shows the transition of a caterpillar into a butterfly。 The caterpillar goes through a journey eating constantly and growing more and more each day。 A young reader gets to learn and see that this is what happens to a caterpillar。 Overall, the book is filled with a great lesson, and would definitely recommend it。 。。。more

This is a great picture book for young children to read。 I remember bits and pieces from this book from when I was a kid。 This book does an excellent job with word recognition by matching words with the pictures。 It teaches new words, counting, and has a storyline suitable for kids to understand。

I remember this book as being the first book I actually read by myself。 I remember loving the colorful and abstract illustrations as a child, and I still appreciate the art style today。 This is a very cute and simple story that is essential for any young child to read。 The caterpillar eats his way through many fruits as counted by the author, this aids children in learning to count, and even teaches days of the week。 The story ends with our caterpillar turning into a beautiful butterfly。 The ill I remember this book as being the first book I actually read by myself。 I remember loving the colorful and abstract illustrations as a child, and I still appreciate the art style today。 This is a very cute and simple story that is essential for any young child to read。 The caterpillar eats his way through many fruits as counted by the author, this aids children in learning to count, and even teaches days of the week。 The story ends with our caterpillar turning into a beautiful butterfly。 The illustrations and the educational value are why I rated this book so highly。 。。。more

Another classic by Eric Carle。 I feel like everybody knows the story about the hungry caterpillar who eats his way through the week only to turn into a beautiful butterfly at the end。 I gave this book a 4 stars 1。) because I love Carle illustrations。 They have so much texture and dimension。 They are just beautiful to me。 The second reason I like this book is because it teaches students about the changes in life- specifically how a hungry, green caterpillar can become a multi-colored butterfly。 I Another classic by Eric Carle。 I feel like everybody knows the story about the hungry caterpillar who eats his way through the week only to turn into a beautiful butterfly at the end。 I gave this book a 4 stars 1。) because I love Carle illustrations。 They have so much texture and dimension。 They are just beautiful to me。 The second reason I like this book is because it teaches students about the changes in life- specifically how a hungry, green caterpillar can become a multi-colored butterfly。 I had a class in elementary school where one of our centers was observing and feeding monarch caterpillars, and we would watch how they morphed into a butterfly。 It just amazed me, and I had so much fun with it。 So, this book took me back to those days- when life seems simpler。 。。。more
